Why Alexis Sanchez could still join Manchester United

Manchester United have not given up hope on signing Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez just yet and the reason for that is Barcelona may not be able to afford the Chilean if they decide to go ahead and buy Cesc Fabregas.

So all we have to do is just waiting patiently and see what happens at the Nou Camp. Sanchez has made it clear that he wants to join Barcelona but if they can not afford him then he must come and join United rather than staying at Udinese.

United are standing firm on the £28million offer made to Udinese and they would be silly not to take it if Barcelona can not match it.

Nani will stay to fight for his place despite being linked with a move to Spain

There had been suggestions that Nani may be leaving Manchester United this summer after the arrival of Ashley Young from Aston Villa. The competitions on the wings this coming season is going to be intense with Young, Nani, Valencia and Ji-Sung Park all fighting for two places on the field. But competition has always been healthy at a club like ours and I do not see Nani leaving especially since he was voted the best player last season.

I know there are some fans who would love to see Nani leave but I am not one of those.

“I have been playing at United for a few years now and the arrival of Ashley Young does not intimidate me,” said Nani. “If I have played when Cristiano Ronaldo was at United, then why would it not be possible now with this new player?

“Next season I need to do everything I can to cement my place in the starting line-up.”

But Nani has admitted that he considered his place at United after losing it to Antonio Valencia in the latter part of the season.

“It’s true that the rumours about interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich forced me to think,” said Nani.

“But I am at the best club in the world right now. In the future, things are never certain.

“To play in Spain would be a very good experience, but I prefer the Premier League.”

Is Nasri the right man for United as we close in on signing him?

Manchester United are battling it out with Manchester City for the signature of Arsenal midfielder Nasri. In my opinion, I will be shocked if Arsenal do allow Nasri to leave and join either one of us. Selling a star player to a rival club is not common in the transfer market today. But where a lot of money is involved, anything can happen especially since Arsene Wenger loves to deal with money but never spends it. Wenger will see that they bought Nasri for £12million but now they can sell him for £20million, in business terms, that makes sense.

But now my question to you is, “Is Nasri the right player we need at United?”

According to former Old Trafford star Paddy Crerand, Nasri is just what we need.

“The player that interests me most at present is Nasri,” said Crerand. “I’m sure he can do the midfield job for us and become the play maker at Old Trafford.

“He is right up there with the Barcelona players like Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta in my book but the talk of [Cesc] Fabregas going to the Nou Camp could potentially jeopardise that one.

“The problem that Arsenal face is the length of contract, surely they can’t let Nasri go on a free next year? I doubt they will let both players leave Arsenal so I suspect an interesting few days ahead.

“The team go out to the States on July 10th and that means we will probably go all out to bring any targets that we have into the club to enable them to be part of the full pre-season.

“It makes a big difference believe me if players can enjoy that full period with the rest of the team. If there is another signing to make I expect it will be in the next 10 days.”

What are your thoughts on Nasri?

Samir Nasri or Luka Modric?

Manchester United have been linked with moves for Arsenal’s Nasri and Spurs Luka Modric this summer as we seek to make more quality additions to our squad following the retirement of Paul Scholes.

Now according to the Telegraph, Sir Alex Ferguson is not too bothered about signing Modric as he would rather have Nasri. Spurs have come out and said that they are not going to sell Modric but we all know if we offer them a decent amount of money for Modric then they would sell him to us.

“I wish to make it absolutely clear, as I have said previously, that none of our key players will be sold this summer,” Spurs chairman Levy said.

“We are building a team for the future to consistently play at the highest level and retaining quality players is crucial to that.

“In respect of Luka Modric, we are not prepared to sell, at any price, to Chelsea Football Club or any other club.”

Who would you rather Manchester United sign between the two?

Alexis Sanchez set for £27million transfer to Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson means business this summer. After winning the Premier League last season and guiding us to another Champions League final, one would have thought that our squad would be good enough to do it again next season, but not Sir Alex. He is going shopping this summer!

With Phil Jones already signed and Ashley Young to follow soon, Manchester United are now favourites to sign Alexis Sanchez from Udinese for £27million. Sanchez is a target for the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea but lure of playing for such a great club like Manchester United will prove to be too good an offer to turn down for Sanchez.

It is reported in The Sun that David Gill flew out to Spain yesterday (Tuesday) to meet Udinese president Gino Pozzo yesterday - ironically in Barcelona, where the Italian supremo lives - to thrash out an agreement.

Usain Bolt could be a United player

It may not happen this summer but in summers to come, Manchester United could be set to sign the quickest man in the world, Usain Bolt! How good he is on the soccer field is one thing but if he can be half as good a soccer player as he is a sprinter then we would have one heck of a player.

“I really want to try soccer after I retire because I’ve watched football over the years and I think I could be a good contender,” Bolt told the BBC.

“I’m really looking forward to it and yes, I definitely think I’m good enough to play for Manchester United. I’m good enough because I’m quick, I have a little skill - I have to refine it a little bit but I should be good enough.”

Nani Should Go

Don not get me wrong, what an amazing player and what an asset he has been to Manchester United this season. However, with players like Ashley Young and others set to be heading to Old Trafford, Nani will struggle to crack the starting line up, this will not fare well with Portuguese International.

Real Madrid are said to be eyeing the winger. One can imagine if Ashley Young does join the Red Devils he will form a formidable partnership with our very own Antonio Valencia. To me Young is a much more consistent, on form player.

United are set to open their Transfer spree on an exciting young prospect that is Phil Jones. Is this to be the beginning of a busy transfer market for United?. Who will it be next? Who should it be next?

Rooney and Andy Carroll on holiday together

Wayne Rooney and Liverpool’s Andy Carroll are staying at the same exclusive Sandy Lane resort in Barbados as they take their summer break and recharge for next season.

Wayne Rooney took a picture of the two of them and posted it on Twitter. Rooney simply said, “Me and big andy Carroll chilling at the bar oooossssshhhhh”

I wonder how many drinks they have knocked back at the bar?

Rooney : Phil Jones is one of the toughest

Phil Jones was reportedly in Manchester yesterday (Wednesday) to undergo a medical before sealing his £16million move to United from Blackburn.

Wayne Rooney is on holiday right now but he has tweeted about this transfer saying, “Phil jones is a good young English player. 1 of the toughest defenders I played against last season. Can play midfield to.”

I guess Jones gets Rooney’s seal of approval.

Rooney later on then tweeted, “I don’t know if phil jones is signing for us just saying he is a good player that’s all. I haven’t got a clue if he is signing or not.”

So until something official comes out, we will just be like Rooney and still just speculate for now but the deal is virtually done.

United beat Liverpool to sign Phil Jones

Yes! We have beaten those scousers again! Liverpool were getting all excited that they had signed Jordan Henderson from Sunderland and they were hoping Blackburn central defender, Phil Jones would also join them but Jones has opted to join us!

The England Under 21 centre-half will sign a five-year deal at Old Trafford after completing a medical this afternoon (Wednesday). United have been tracking Jones for the last 18 months, but their hand was forced when Liverpool recently entered the market for the 19-year-old stopper.

Now with Jones on board what does that mean for our other central defenders? Will Jones be in the starting line-up or are Ferdinand and Vidic still our best partnership? I think it will be hard for Jones to displace Vidic but with Rio’s injury problems, he may just get in ahead of Rio. One now wonders what that means for Smalling and Evans as they will now go further down the pecking order.
